Hello there!
I wanted to share a little bit more information about myself so you can assess our “fit”.
I started my Psychology career working at TAFE NSW, and I am now working 100% remote as a Telehealth Psychologist in the private sector. I work primarily with adults up to the age of 65 years, and I have some teen clients as well.
I would describe my “vibe” as a Psychologist and Supervisor as collaborative, empathetic and authentic. What this means in practise is that I ask a lot of questions to double check my understanding and to make sure we are on the right track in our sessions, I try really hard to understand your perspective and the “why” of things, and I am not afraid to let you know when I do not know something (and I’m not afraid to go away and find out with you!).
I am able to support you as you learn and strengthen your skills across multiple topics and domains, including:
- Working in a culturally safe* way with different groups, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People
- Working with LGBTIQA+ people
- Working with neurodiversity
- Suicide and self harm
- Mandatory reporting
- Ethical dilemmas
- Case discussions
- Exploring techniques from a range of therapy styles: CBT, ACT, MI, DBT, SFBT, and Schema Therapy
- Adapting your way of working for telehealth
- Self advocacy around fair working conditions
- And more, just ask!
If you are interested in exploring any of the above topics, I would love to be your Secondary Supervisor and support you on your journey to becoming a fully registered Psychologist.
And if you want to assess my “fit” further I am more than happy to provide a free 20 minute phone call.
*It is always the client’s right to assess if I am working in a culturally safe way, it is not my right to assert this
